A Shade Greener Maintenance Ltd are regularly contacted by homeowners who have received an unsolicited call or letter from another company, offering a ‘free solar system health check’ or a warning about the solar panel system being at risk of failing or being out of warranty.

Don’t be caught out by these companies, such as “Solar Daddy Group Ltd”, who target properties with solar panels, specifically to extract money, for unnecessary and costly maintenance you don’t need.

Many of these companies have already been reported to MCS and the consumer magazine Which, and both recognise that these companies are trying to sell something unnecessary or even claiming false and misleading statements as truths.

The solar panels on your property are monitored and maintained by A Shade Greener Maintenance Ltd, AT NO COST TO YOU, for the duration of the agreement.

A Shade Greener Maintenance Ltd will never….

  • Ask another company to telephone or write to you on our behalf.

  • Ask another company to visit your property on our behalf.

  • Share your personal information with any other company.

As your dedicated solar maintenance company, A Shade Greener Maintenance Ltd provides you with the following FREE OF CHARGE.

  • We remotely monitor the Solar Panels on a DAILY basis to ensure that they are working to their optimum capacity.

  • Our experienced and highly skilled operational service team will contact you directly in the unlikely event that the solar system develops a problem.

  • Should it be necessary to visit your property, all our field operatives are recognisable with their logo branded uniform and ID card.

  • All the solar panel equipment at your property is covered under our monitoring agreement, and should your equipment become faulty, it will be replaced with no cost to yourself.

We strongly advise that you should ignore any unsolicited mail or cold callers (either by telephone or in person), offering maintenance, servicing or upgrades to the solar panels.

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) has issued the following statement.

“MCS are aware that its brand is being misrepresented by individuals and companies claiming to either be working for, or with, the MCS carrying out these (maintenance, upgrades, safety and inverter) checks. MCS would like to confirm that MCS has not partnered with any installation or maintenance company and contact details are not coming from MCS directly. We are working closely with Trading Standards to end these practices and we would encourage anyone who has heard of, or had any interaction with these companies or individuals offering these services, to contact Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice helpline or MCS directly”.
